About Medicine Hat Accountants Michele Winger and her team
I grew up in family of entrepreneurs. Our family business in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan had retail (home entertainment), service (electronic repairs) and wholesale operations as well as a full service gas station. I know from first-hand experience what it is like to schedule and manage staff, prepare the payroll, re-order stock, deal with government forms, manage bank accounts and overdrafts, serve customers and deal with paperwork. My move to Medicine Hat, in 1981, gave me my second exposure to public accounting and triggered my passion for accounting for small businesses.
The combination of my keenness for accounting, formal education as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), being a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), growing up in a family business and years of managing my own professional practice, all come together to offer unique and practical insights for business owners.
I work with a three people as my support staff. My accounting technicians have a two-year accounting diploma, extensive real life bookkeeping/accounting experience, or both, plus they receive considerable initial and on-going training here, in this office. We are here full-time, year-round and have a firm understanding of the issues in bookkeeping, payroll remittances, GST and other aspects of accounting and bookkeeping. We are very accessible, friendly, efficient and responsive to client needs and requests. We will get to know you. We will know who you are when you walk in the door.
